One of a Kind - Cloisonne Brooch

Fun and funky and adds a touch of whimsy to any outfit! Bright yellow flower on a blue background, set in sterling silver, makes for a one-of-a-kind conversation piece. This is a double pronged brooch, entirely handmade.

Enameled jewelry is the process of taking a piece of copper or sterling silver, sparerinkling glass powder and then firing in a kiln.  Multiple layers of powder are typically applied.

Cloisonné is the process of applying silver wire onto the metal before any glass powder is applied. The metal creates channels or cells, and then the glass powder is mixed with water and then "wet packed" into those channels to create separate colors. Each of these cloisonné pictures were fired a minimum of 8 times in a kiln. It's a lengthy and laborious process, but so rewarding when the picture is complete!
