Happiest of New Years my friends! I'm writing this from my little studio in a reconverted textile mill in Biddeford, Maine, where the temperature outside is a balmy 20 degrees Fahrenheit or -6 degrees Celsius. Sounds warmer in Fahrenheit!
The price of silver is going up, up, up! Last I checked, it was over $75/ounce. To give you some perspective, a 12 x 12 sheet of copper is $34.50, while a similar sheet of sterling in the same size and gauge is $2,839.00. And that's the wholesale price. Big gulp here!
Last November, I traveled to Waltham, Massachusetts for a one day course on enameling. I had tried it before on my own, but this time, I was able to get some tips and tricks on it that may have taken me awhile to figure out, and also experience using a kiln. At the end of this month, I'm continuing my education with the fabulous Laura Fortune, and have signed up for a cloissoné course in Mesa, Arizona! My first time there and cannot wait to experience some of the local cuisine.

The Matisse Collection is inspired by Henri Matisse - using his paintings as inspiration, I've taken freeform shapes, added more dimensionality on color and transformed his paintings into wearable art treasures. Hope you enjoy!
