Cloisonnê
I like to call cloisonnê enamel's big sister. Made from the same material, powdered glass over metal, cloisonnê introduces sterling silver wires to create channels and cells. The powdered glass, moistened with water, is placed in the channels, creating a picture. Up to 13 - 15 firings in a kiln completes the picture.
