One of a Kind - Pearl Pendant

In ancient legends, pearls were once called the "tears of gods". Their symbolic meanings are multifold: purity and innocence, wisdom and knowledge, wealth and status, to name a few. My favorite is transformation. Picture this: this little grain of sand gets inside a mollusk and irritates it to no end. (Sort of like a life lesson here.) The mollusk in turn, coats the grain, over and over, and the next thing you know - Voila! A pearl is formed. 

This pendant features a coin pearl - because, well, it looks like a coin. It has a superior nacre to it (the outer part which gives the pearl its iridescence) and has a rainbow lustre to it.
