One of a Kind - Opalized Wood Necklace

Opalized wood reminds me of the oceans and sand. And summer. 

It's formed when forests are covered by volcanic ash and silica seeps in and solidifies. If it had crystallized, it would be quartz, but because it solidified, it's opal. Ever notice how so many stones are created because of volcanoes? Just a thought. 

This particular piece is a oval, and is designed as a necklace. The chain is 18 inches long, and also has a 2 inch extender. Handmade clasp. It's generously deep.
