One of a Kind - Rainforest Jasper Pendant

This stone is called rainforest jasper, and it neither comes from the rainforest, nor is it jasper. Don't side eye me, blame the geologists.

Rainforest jasper actually comes from Australia, and is formed from volcanic rock. The different colors come from various minerals caught in the bubbles as it cools. It's actually a rhyolite and was formed about 120 million years ago. And it's called rainforest because it resembles the canopy of a jungle with all the green, gold, and brown colors. 

I love shield shapes, and they're so hard to find! I think it adds an extra layer of protection to the wearer. Or warrior.
