Enamel - Colorful Geometry Quatrefoils in Purple
Enamel is the layering of glass powder on metal, (either copper or fine silver) and then heating by kiln or torch to melt the powder, turning it into glass. It can be a process full of surprises, as there are variables which can affect the shading, depth or intensity of color. I use copper, and I kiln fire for a more reliable effect. This particular pair features shades of dark and light purple.
Each piece is a one of a kind treasure, as no two pieces ever come out exactly alike.
